Regina Eastview meets on the second Tuesday of the month, in the afternoon. We have a planning meeting in late August to brainstorm for ideas for programs for the year. Our 2018-2019 programs represent the interests of our members, but we always plan to have fun.
Regina Eastview Inner Wheel celebrated its 34th Anniversary this year. Our Club officially began on July 1, 1984 and held its Charter night on November 3, 1984. Lillian Pettigrew was Eastview’s first President. She extended the ‘red rose of friendship’ to all those in attendance on the Charter Night.

She went on to say that “in this inaugural year, our Club has formed the foundation for the Inner Wheel purpose—to extend friendship, contribute service, and foster international understanding.”

Lillian was later elected to the International Inner Wheel Board of Directors, and, in 1999 – 2000, she held the global office of International Inner Wheel President. Our members are proud to be her friends.

Our Year of Meetings, Activities & Projects

• September, 2018—During this meeting, every year, our Executive presents the results of the planning meeting and our members add their own ideas.
• October, 2018—Speakers during this meeting were: Monica Carr-Garringer, Principal, of the Cornwall Alternative School. This School offers an alternative student-centred education to students, in grades 7 – 10, who are at risk in the traditional education system. A cheque for $1000.00 was presented to Monica to support this program. Trish Watier also spoke about volunteer First Responders and their need for counseling after responding to accidents or fires. As well, a cheque for $500. was sent to CISM—Critical Incident Stress Management for immediate “at need” help to these Volunteer Firefighters.

• November, 2018—We had a social time lunch to celebrate our anniversary.
• December, 2018—Our Christmas Potluck Lunch, when members brought warm clothing for an elementary school. We also planned for 'Meals on Wheels' tray favors and decided who’s making the cookies for the treat bag.
• January, 2019—Our program focused on International Inner Wheel Day and how IIW is involved worldwide.
• February, 2019—We invited partners and guests to join us for lunch for Valentines Day. Two of our special members--
Marg Lawrence and Lillian Pettigrew—had special birthdays to celebrate and our speaker was from SEARCH, the Student Energy in Action for Regina Community Health.
• March, 2019—We eat again! Everybody brought something for the salad and we put it all together! Our focus was on planning for the St. Patrick’s Day Tea at the Canadian Mental Health Centre. This Tea was held on March 14 for clients of the Centre. (See photos)
• April, 2019—Our Club members toured the STARS Centre and Helicopter and then went for coffee. (See photo, above and left)
• May, 2019—Traditionally, in this month, we prepare toiletry kits to be given to woman and children at Transition House and Wish House, and to men at Waterston House.
• June, 2019—We'll enjoy a Potluck Lunch and our final business meeting, before the summer, with our friends.
