Regina Eastview Inner Wheel celebrated its 39th Anniversary this year. Our Club officially began on July 1, 1984 and held its Charter night on November 3, 1984. Lillian Pettigrew was Eastview’s first President. She extended the ‘red rose of friendship’ to all those in attendance on the Charter Night.
She went on to say that “in this inaugural year, our Club has formed the foundation for the Inner Wheel purpose—to extend friendship, contribute service, and foster international understanding.” Lillian was later elected to the International Inner Wheel Board of Directors, and, in 1999 – 2000, she held the global office of International Inner Wheel President. Our members are proud to be her friends. |

Regina Eastview Inner Wheel holds an executive planning meeting in August to be ready for September. The executive is supported by three teams of members. These teams are responsible for planning the year, taking into account the club service projects recommended by the executive. For many years our members have contributed toward toiletry kits which are donated to Women’s Shelters in Regina to support women and children in difficult situations. Each March we put on a St. Patrick’s Day themed tea for the clients of the Mental Health Association in Regina. A newer project is gifts for a Men’s Shelter in Regina at Christmas time. At the end of the year, we choose a local charity such as the Food Bank to receive a donation. Through the year we have speakers – sometimes a member of our Club will tell us about their travels or we invite a speaker from another organization in our community. Celebration lunches are important – Regina Eastview Club Anniversary, Christmas, Valentine lunch with partners and friends, birthdays, and our Salad lunch day where greens are provided and anything else members bring is added to the salad. Our movie activity group is another gathering time. These are great times to visit and provide support to each other. At the St Patrick's Tea,
